ICsense—an independent subsidiary of the TDK group—is Europe’s premier integrated circuit (IC) design company. Its core business verticals are application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) development and supply and custom IC design services. The company has the largest European fab-independent design group, and it provides world-class expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and high-voltage IC design. In need of a proper financial and ERP software solution and the right digital partner, ICsense wanted to make a balanced choice between a cost-effective, pragmatic implementation and a solid, future-proof foundation for the company’s projected growth.
Customer Challenges
ICsense needed a solution to automate project expense and time management, sales, and finance transactions in a cost-effective way, while at the same time providing the flexibility and scalability to keep up with the IC design company’s growth plans. In addition to inline reporting, the software solution that ICsense sought had to be capable of seamlessly exporting data to other reporting tools and allowing users to create management reports. At a user interface (UI) level, it was also important to ICsense that the solution remain accessible, intuitive, and easy to use for its more than 90 users.

Partner Solution
To digitalize, streamline, and automate ICsense’s business processes, Scapta extended the application with XPR365 Finance and Contina Document Capture 365 from the Microsoft AppSource Marketplace. The project management processes were then fine-tuned by using XPR365 Projects.
By leveraging Dynamics 365 Business Central, it’s now possible to export data to Power BI and empower users to create management reports via highly customizable dashboards.
Customer Benefits
The Scapta solution has helped ICsense digitalize its key operational processes and aided in developing an optimized approval workflow that can be easily managed by authorized users without the need for IT intervention. For project management processes, ICsense can use the software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to calculate labor costs, register time sheets, and track expenses on projects. Analytical bookkeeping is also possible and is now used for reporting to parent group TDK.Dynamics 365 Business Central gives us the ability to get accurate and always-updated insights into the status of our projects, all in one system.
